Ernie Jensen raises an important question related to the budget. The number of honorary members is growing and it does impact the budget. At the most recent Board of Directors meeting Laura Freedman’s resignation was accepted and her request for honorary membership was granted. That decision was not unanimous.
Several members of the Board commented that Laura was certainly as deserving of the honor as several the current honorary members, but the policy of members resigning and requesting honorary membership raises several questions about the future. One comment was that honorary members often attend occasional meetings and social functions while not paying dues and that we may soon have more non-dues paying members than dues paying members.
The question is, what should the criteria be for granting Honorary Membership status?
