Bob has been a member of the Arcadia Rotary Club for 41 years, having joined in 1982. His first term as president of our club was 20 years ago. He is retired as President of Harbicht Research Incorporated, a marketing research consulting firm. In layman’s terms, they did opinion surveys, working with major companies on new product development, advertising testing, customer satisfaction studies, etc.

Bob has also been active in his community. He served 20 years on the Arcadia City Council and four terms as Mayor. He was also elected to two terms on the Duarte City Council and served as Mayor of that community before moving to Arcadia.

He was creator of the Arcadia Field of Honor, the display of 1,000 8-foot-tall American flags at the corner of Santa Anita & Huntington Drive. Bob Chaired the event the first two years. He served again as chairman for this year’s edition. During the years the Field of Honor has been presented, it has become the primary source of funds for Arcadia Rotary charities. The Field of Honor also provided the funds for the veteran’s monument at the Arcadia Community Center. Bob & Patsy have lived in their Arcadia home for 50 years, where they raised two children, Rob & Jill. They have four grandchildren.
