As the witching hour approached, many mere mortals began to fear what was about to begin. Businesses closed their doors; strange beings began setting up their tents in hopes of catching a glimpse of what was about to roam the streets.  We were told that there would be ghouls and goblins being released to roam the street banging on our doors, scratching at our windows all yelling Trick or Treat, I want your candy……..

Well, the witching hour on Friday the 28th was 4:00 pm and the streets that were taken over were the streets of the Arcadia Downtown area and finally the Ghouls and Goblins were the most precious little angels dressed up in their favorite character. There were of course the little devils escorted by the parents with angel wings to ensure that their little devil said thank you after receiving their piece of candy treat.

The Arcadia Downtown Association did a fabulous job organizing and preparing all of the community groups to be ready for what was about to happen. Like the Colorado River, the flow of parents and children just kept flowing and the prediction of up to 5000 kids participating was spot on. Thank you Donna Choi for all of you hard work in making this event happen.

Finally, a quick shout out to the volunteers that came by to help hand out the candy. We were joined by three members of the local Girls Scout Troop (Thank you Jackie So). We were also represented by our Rotarian members, Yvonne Flint, Jim Pontello, David Muse, Teri Muse, President Chris Haddow with his partner in crime Jeanette Johnson. To all of those who helped set-up, break-down and share a smile with all of the parents and children, I say thank you. We will see you next year.
