For many years, the Arcadia Rotary Foundation has been awarding scholarships to deserving Arcadia High School graduates, and this year was no exception. Four scholarships, totaling $8500, were announced by Arcadia Rotary President, Patrick Dolphin, at the annual awards program on May 30, 2019 in the school’s Performing Arts Center. Proud recipients are, from left to right: Rachel Yin, Benjamin Liu, Tanya Chen and Ethan Huang.

The selection committee, composed of Arcadia Rotary Club Foundation Board and Arcadia Rotary Club members, evaluated a field of twenty-four highly-qualified applicants, who were judged based on academic achievement, school and community service and financial need. Nearly all applicants had completed numerous Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Their campus activities covered the gamut of offerings at the high school, including Band, Orchestra, Drama and Stagecraft, Art, Student Government, Athletics and Service Clubs. Community service included Scouting, church leadership, political action, tutoring and volunteering for non-profits.
