Keith Brown took a moment to those members who worked so hard at Camp Trask last Saturday. On behalf of all the members of Arcadia Rotary he expressed our appreciation for all their hard work. Everyone who worked at the camp had a great time and all agreed that the hot dogs supplied by George Fasching were fabulous! The club’s next work day will be Saturday, March 29th where we’ll complete the needed maintenance and painting at the camp. Please make it a point to volunteer for the 29th!

Eszylfie Taylor was recognized by President Mimi, and presented with her Golden Goose Award, for all of his hard work with coordinating the raffle prizes for this year’s Casino Night. Thanks Eszylfie for, as Mimi says, “Giving the club lift” and doing such a great job with the raffle!

President Mimi also recognized three exceptional Rotarians as “Rotarians of the Month” for their dedication and hard work on the club’s annual fundraiser. They are Mike Real, Jim Rider, and Frank Hall. As President Mimi explained these three gentlemen have worked tremendously hard for several years now on our club’s biggest fundraiser of the year, our Casino Night. They’ve created a terrific foundation upon which the club can continue to build a successful fundraising event that generates the funds we need to finance the programs we are so proud of.

Finally, Brian Hall spent a few minutes introducing us to the Arcadia High School Students of the Month. They are Yusuf Elmasri (Athletics), Eunice Tin (Performing Arts), and Soo Lee (Academics). Yusuf plans to attend P.C.C. and transfer to UC Irvine where he hopes to major in business administration. Yusuf then hopes to become a professional soccer player or a firefighter. Eunice plans to attend Georgetown University and major in political science and interior design. Soo hopes to attend UC San Diego or UCLA and major in biology, biomedical engineering, or pre-med and hopes to be an engineer, doctor, or pharmacist.
