Mike Real reminded us that the set up of the flags for the Field of Honor will be on Saturday 08/28/2021. Put that on your calendar. He said that the club has been successful in getting sponsors for this event, but we could still use additional sponsors. If you know of any prospective sponsors, let Mike know. He encouraged all members to sell flags which is needed to make this fund raiser a success. Remember that Field of Honor is the club’s big fund raiser for the year .
Bob Harbicht announced that the opening ceremony for the Field of Honor will be on Sunday 08/29/2021. He is looking for 80 people to carry flags in the parade who will then post the flags at the Field of Honor. All club members, their families and friends are invited to participate in the parade. A signup sheet is going around at the club meetings.
The Memorial Service for Dan Place will be on Saturday 08/28/2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd with a reception after the service.
President Ashley announced that John Fee is a patient at Arcadia Methodist Hospital, and she asked for volunteers to visit John at the hospital each day and keep him company.
President Ashley announced that Claro’s will start catering the club luncheons each week starting in September 2021. The club’s Board of Directors voted that each member will be charged $25 on your bill for lunch each week whether you attend the meeting or not. This is like it was before the pandemic shut us down.
