Where is the Maori Carving Center project?  Fly 7,800 miles from LAX to Auckland, New Zealand then drive 3 hrs north on State Highway 1 and go left at Kawakawa for another 1.5 hours on narrow roads.  And you still might NOT easily find it.  Drive 15 more miles and you will run into the Tasman Sea… Until now.

The latest photos show the new signage installed by our Local Sponsor of the project, the Kerikeri Rotary Club.  A bright orange sign on the paved road points left. It stands out against the colors of nature and coordinates with their logo design that can be seen on their website: www.motuti.co.nz .

Another sign with a matching style has been installed on the gravel road immediately outside the facility.  Miss that one and a mile later you might drive into the muddy upper reaches of the Hokianga Harbor.

Finally, a small sign has been placed on a pole that points to Motuti Rd, the way to get to the project.

An excellent write-up of the project from the Kerikeri Rotary Club perspective can be seen on their website: www.kerikerirotaryclub.org/motuti.htm
