Friday’s program was the Arcadia Rotary Interact Club. 11 Interact Club Officers were present and they each gave an outstanding presentation.

They explained that one of their biggest events of the year is #lunchbag, where they pack sandwiches and an encouraging note to those less fortunate in the community. This is a partnership with Foothill Unity Center. 30 students participated and over 250 lunches were packed, which is incredible. Another event they host is an ice skating social, where members bring friends and raise money for their International Project and the Red Cross. They also participate in local events such as parades, festivals and projects at the local elementary schools.

Over the past two years, they have volunteered at the Rose Parade and the Camellia Festival Parade in Temple City. They also volunteered at Rise Against Hunger, which packed approximately 30,000 meals and sent them to countries in need. Their biggest project is the Cookstove Project, which helps families in Ugandga build health cookstoves to enhance their health and environmental safety. Arcadia Rotary presented them with a check for $1000 for this project, which is well deserved and well earned. Great job, Interacters! You are the future of Rotary!
