The craft talk today was by Dave Vannasdall, a member of the Arcadia Rotary Club since 2008, and his classification is Education – High School Administration. He started his teaching education at University of Kentucky, and started teaching in a Middle School. By the time he was thirty year old he had become the principle of the school. Continuing with his higher education, he received his masters in counseling and administration, which he brought to the Arcadia Unified School District.

Dave was very excited about his son who had auditioned with three hundred applicants for a part in the play “Oliver”, and he was the one selected. The contract he received was for two and a half years, and at the time he was only ten years old. Dave followed the show with him for two years. In the show there was a clown who  turned out to be the Vice President of Tyson Foods. It sounded like the theater was his primary interest and the food business secondary.

The upcoming speech by the President of the United States to the school children has developed a great deal of interest from the parents. Dave informed us that he had received over two hundred E mails on the subject.  Art Killian
