The first official meeting of the Arcadia Rotary Club took place at the Foothill Tavern on October 7, 1927, at 8:00 P.M. Members of the Monrovia Rotary Club were on hand to open the meeting. A representative from the District Governor was in charge. The representatives from Monrovia presented a fine collection bowl, diplomatically referred to as the “offering bowl”, to the club. Over the years club members deposited many thousands of dollars in that bowl.
