Arcadia Rotary Club and Sierra Madre Rotary Club are working jointly with Rise Against Hunger, a non-profit organization, to package meals and ship them to feed needy families in Vietnam.
There will be a work party on Saturday 10/27/2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. at La Salle High School, located at the corner of Michillinda and Sierra Madre Blvd., in Sierra Madre. The goal is to package 20,000 meals, with our club’s goal to pack 11,000 meals. We need a good turnout from our members to meet our goal. if you can’t attend the work party you should consider donating $165 as the cost for 500 meals or $250 as the cost for 750 meals. Sign ups are being taken at the meeting for those who plan on attending, or you can sign up online.
Veteran’s Day will be observed on Sunday 11/11/2018. Members should consider buying a United States flag from the club for $50.00 to fly on Veteran’s Day and other national holidays. Contact Mike Real for further details.
The Arcadia Rotary Club is planning a dinner and theater party on Saturday 11/17/2018 with dinner at 5:30 p.m and a play afterwards at 8:00 p.m. at the Glendale Centre Theater, 324 N. Orange Street, Glendale, CA. The cost for the evening is $65/person. The play will be “The Games Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays”. This should be a great social for the club. Tickets will be on sale from 10/12/2018 through 11/02/2018, and payment must be received by 11/02.
JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Foundation) wil hold their annual walk for life fund raiser at the Rose Bowl Stadium Sunday, November 4, 2018. Check in is at 8 AM and the walk will start at at 10 AM.
