1. Thanks to the support of the membership, we have enough money to order 20 wheelchairs for the needy in Tijuana. Please consider a $200 contribution to add to that number. You can have your donation added to your bill, or send a check made out to the “Arcadia Rotary Foundation”.
  2. Rise Against Hunger will be held at La Salle High School, Pasadena, on Oct. 27th. Time is 8:30 to 11:00 AM. We plan to pack 20,000 meals along with the Sierra Madre Rotary Club. A signup sheet will be circulated at the next meeting, or you can sign up on the High Gear. Family members and friends are welcome to help.
  3. Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, is a good time to consider buying a flag for a veteran that you know. They are $50 each and can be picked up for Veteran’s Day, or you can have it displayed at the Field of Honor next year.
  4. The club’s Board Meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, 6 PM at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce building.
  5. Chris Haddow’s band, the Route 66 Band, will play at the Route 66 Roadhouse Bar on Oct. 19th at 9 PM. Please attend to support Chris’s band!
  6. We will have a theater party on Nov. 17th. “Holmes for the Holiday” will play at the Glendale Circle Theater with dinner before hand at the Panda Inn.
  7. Frank Griffith announced several ways to participate in the Rotary Rose Parade Float. To ride on the float requires a $10,000 donation, and to walk with the float a $6,500 donation. A less expensive way is to buy a raffle ticket for $100. 120 will be sold and the winner will ride on the float. The drawing will be held Dec. 1.
  8. Pres. Pat presented Rotary International Inspiration pins to those who participated in the work party last Saturday to repair the flags for the next Field of Honor.
