1. Pres. Brad announced that this was the last day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish holiday that is the beginning of the Jewish year. He and Dan Bayor explained what the holiday is all about, and the membership was invited to have a piece of apple dipped in honey, symbolic for a sweet and productive year.

2. Matt Weaver handed out tickets to Santa Anita for the first day of racing, and said the third race would be named in honor of our Rotary club.

3. The Arcadia Historical Museum will have a celebration honoring their 10th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 9th. See Pres. Brad for details.

4. The annual Monday Night Football party will be on Oct. 31st at Paul Kalemkiarian’s house. It should be another great event, as it was last year.

5. Our Christmas party is slated for December 4th. Please mark your calendars.

6. Mike Ojeda announced the upcoming play at Arcadia High, the Alford Hitchkock comedy, 39 Steps. The club is invited to attend on Nov. 17th, and if you would like to go, please call Mike.

7. Preliminary work on our annual trip to Tijuana will take place on Oct. 15th, according to Steve Pelletier. If you are interested in going, call Steve. They will visit several orphanages and will plan a project to help the most needy.

8. Pres. Brad announced that with the resignation of Jeff Tookey, the New Generations Director position had to be filled, and Rob Granger has accepted that responsibility.
