Member Update: Pres. Mares was sad to announce that Brian Cogbill has asked for a leave of absence. Last Friday he and Mary Anne were involved in an automobile accident near Fresno. Mary Anne sustained serious injuries and will be transported from Fresno to the Santa Clara Valley Hospital in San Jose. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Cogbill family.
Dick Martinez reminded us of the Rotary Amigos trip, Aug. 27 and 28, to the Rancho Nazareth Orphanage in Tecate, Mexico. He needs the volunteers to bring tools and 4 ft. ladders. Please contact Dick for more information.
Rosie Mares would like donations of musical toys and instruments that we can give to the boys at the orphanage. Please bring them to the meeting next week or the week after.
Brad Miller brought to our attention the Rotary International Convention June 10 through 14 in Atlanta, Georgia. For more information, Google Rotary International Convention. Please contact Brad if you are interested in attending, as he will set aside a block of rooms for us.
Rosie showed us a Polio Plus video of the National Immunization Day held in India in 2012. It was such a success that District 5300 is planning another trip to India in Feb. of next year. Please contact Rosie for more information.
