• Four of our members were called to the podium by Bob Novell for their contributions to the Paul Harris Foundation. They were Gil Stromsoe, Dr. Dong Chang, Tim Vickery, and Bob Hoffman. Bob recognized each with a Paul Harris Society ribbon for contributing $1,000 in the last year.
  • The club’s membership chairman, Geoff Tookey, made a plea for new members. He had been to a District seminar on membership and learned that only 10% bring in new members, 35% leave in the first two years, and 65% in five years. He revealed a poster that said Get your “ask” in gear! Invite a friend to Rotary today. Sponsors will be recognized during the year and at the end, a drawing will be held and the winning sponsor will receive a very nice gift.
  • David Vanasdall, the Principal of our High School, announced that Homecoming would be on Friday night, Oct. 8th. Arcadia is playing Muir and we are invited to a reception from 6 to 7 PM where we will meet the homecoming court. We will also be present for the dedication of the new football stadium.
  • Mike Ojeda, our social chairman, asked us to save the date of October 15th for Octoberfest at Matt Denny’s.
  • Brad Miller, who filled in for President Matt, requested contributions of $50 for the Shelter Boxes. Please get in touch with Frank Hall if you are interested in making a contribution.
