CliffsNotes on Mike Driebe’s Experiences from India

FOOD – Mostly vegetables. No Beef or Pork is eaten there. The meat that they do consume is Chicken and Lamb and very little. They do like their sweets.

TRAFFIC – Very busy and dusty. No air quality regulations thus they have very poor air quality. Very narrow streets.  Pedestrians do not have any rights.

TEMPLES – Part of their lives.  Hinduism and Buddishm originated in India.

BUSINESS – Only 18% of people there pay for income tax. If the others would pay, they probably would have better roads and schools.

NATURE – Visited Kanha National park (you can look online for more info if necessary).

In 1963, the peacock was declared the National Bird of India because of its rich religious and legendary involvement in Indian traditions. The criteria for this choice were many. The bird must be well-distributed within the country so it could truly ‘national‘. It must be recognizable to the common man.

PEOPLE – Very friendly made them feel very welcomed like family.
