V.P. Rosie Mares, filling in for our president who is on his honeymoon, announced that the regional finals for the Dan Stover Music Contest will be held next Wednesday, noon, at the Quiet Cannon Restaurant in Montebello. Please contact Rosie if you would like to attend.

George Fasching announced that the club’s 29th Salute to Seniors luncheon will be on Tuesday 05/10 at the Arcadia Community Center. He needs 12 volunteers from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to help set up tables and to serve lunch.

The club’s Monte Carlo night will held on Saturday 06/04 at the Arcadia Community Center. Erich Rail is looking for raffle items. It will be from 6:00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.

The club’s installation Banquet for next year’s President, Rosie Mares, will be held on Friday 06/24 at the Doubletree Hotel in Monrovia. Festivities will start at 6pm.

Dick Martinez has rescheduled the Rotary Amigos project. The date will be 6/11. Please contact Dick if you can participate.

Jim Pontello announced that the club will meet for the club’s annual Arbor Day lunch on Friday 04/29/2016 at the Arboretum. This will be a regular club meeting and we will be DARK at Embassy Suites.

John Wilson announced a Boys and Girls Club event, Derby Day, to be held at Santa Anita Race Track, Baldwin Terrace, on Sat. 5/7. Cocktails, lunch and silent auction will start at noon, and the live auction and program will be at 2pm, followed by the Kentucky Derby at 3:24pm. Please contact John if you can attend.

Bob Harbicht reminded us that the club’s Field of Honor will be held from 05/21 to 05/29 at Arcadia County Park. The flags are being assembled at Pat Dolphin’s warehouse in Azusa and Bob needs your help. Remember to sell flags to all of your friends. This is a great project and we all need to participate.

Brad Miller was contacted by a rotarian in Fiji, Gene Calvert, who has visited our club in the past. The Fiji islands sustained a tremendous amount of damage from a hurricane that measured 185 miles per hour. Donations can be sent to Gene’s club, the Savu Savu Rotary, and to Shelterbox. Please contact Brad for more information and with ideas as to how our club can help.
