Darned if I know what’s new in the zoo. But, I do know what is new to the Rotary Club of Arcadia website. It is called a wiki. The name comes from those quick little shuttle buses at Honolulu Airport. You may have experience with the biggest wki on the web Wikipedia. It is sort of like an online encyclopedia.
The Rotary Club of Arcadia’s wiki can be found at www.arcadiarotary.org/wiki and it is powered by the same software that powers Wikipedia. Our wiki is an online reference where you can find our charter, constitution, by-laws, policies and procedures.
To use it try entering a word or phrase in the search box and hit the search button. The wiki will find every occurrence of your search criteria. When you find a relevant page that seems to be incomplete you can choose the edit button at the top of the page and become a collaborator. This is how we will develop a comprehensive procedure manual.
Under the categories of charter, constitution, by-laws, policies you will not be able to edit the page, because these documents are protected pages, but you can choose the talk button on the top of the page and leave comments. Maybe the Board of Directors will be prompted to adopt your comments as a part of a new policy. Proposed policies can we edited and improved on.
