A Message from Dirk’s daughter, Maura Hudson, Captain of “Team Miranda Sarah”:

This coming Sunday, November 8 we Walk For a Cure.We will be walking for Miranda, as well as countless numbers of children, young adults and adults who have been afflicted and forever affected by this life threatening condition.
We will be walking proud, knowing that we have done an INCREDIBLE amount of fundraising toward finding a cure as part of TEAM MIRANDA SARAH. After all, that’s what all that money is for. That’s the prize we’re seeking. We’ll accept nothing short of that.

To date, we have raised $9,850.25, leaving us only $149.75 short of our goal. That is HUGE that we’ve accomplished that, and we are SO close to getting to our goal. If you have not yet reached your personal fundraising commitment, you have up until November 7 to get funds donated to your personal donation site for it to count to our team. It is not too late!!!  Call me or email me if you need help or have any questions about the process.

WALK DAY LOGISTICS

Here are some answers to some of the walk day logistics questions Maura has been asked:

1.  When Is the Walk?  Sunday, November 8.
2.  When Does Registration Start?  8 a.m.
3.  When Will Miranda’s parents (including “Team Miranda’s” Captain Maura Hudson) Be There? 8 a.m.
4.  When Do You Want Us There? Anytime between 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m., although plan for crowds.
5.  When Does The Walk Start? 10 a.m.
6.  How Long Does It Last?  As long as a team of 65 including strollers and wagons can make it around the exterior and interior of Dodgers Stadium for a 5K (figuring 1.5 hours tops)
7.  Where Do We Meet?  At the TEAM MIRANDA SARAH booth (location TBD – email to come, or you will be directed on walk day)
8.  How Do We Get To Dodger’s Stadium?  See this link:

9.  Which Lot Do We Go Into?  TBD – email to come
10.  Is Parking Free?  Yes!
11.  Will There Be Food?  Unfortunately, looks like no, and this is apparently a change from previous years (although it is still being verified). For now, we’re planning to bring waters, soda and fruit for everyone, and everyone should plan to eat breakfast or bring snacks with them for walk day.
12.  What Should We Wear?  Those who signed up in time for a “Team Miranda” shirt should wear same!  Otherwise, the Weather Channel has it showing as of today a high of 73 and sunny November 8, so bring long sleeves and walker wear.
13.  Will You Have Your Cell Phone On If We’re Lost?  Yes, both of Miranda’s parents, Gerry () and Maura () will be reachable.
14.  Did You Forget Anything?  Probably!  (Let Dirk know of any unanswered questions.  He will contact his daughter, Team Captain Maura Hudson and send an answer in a follow-up email.)
15.  Are You Going To Send Us Mass Emails After Walk Day?  Maura replies:  “Hahahahaha, miss us already? =)  Hey, I never was a cheerleader but probably should’ve been. Maybe we’ll send one, just to say thank you. I feel like we don’t say it enough, although I know we say it every time. Please know we really mean it…to you and all the supporters on your individual and family teams.”T Minus 7 Days and Counting…
