Thank you and the Rotary Club of Arcadia for your generous sponsorship of 100 boys to attend Camp Trask for a day of fun and outdoor learning. We have set the date to Saturday, December 19, and the tentative programming looks as follows:

09:30-10:15 Session 1 Boating

10:15-11:00 Session 2 Leather Working

11:00-11:45 Session 3 Nature

12:00-12:45 Lunch       (Hot Dogs, Chips, Cookies, Fruit and Drink)

12:45-01:30 Session 4 Archery

01:30-02:15 Session 5 Paws and Prints (Plaster)

02:15-03:30 Session 6 Sparklers (Skits and Songs, Hike)

The youths will be in a “round-robin” rotation throughout the day.

I have spoken with the Monrovia School Board during their last board meeting, and have invited them to bring 30+ underserved youth to participate as well. I’ve also contact our own Dr. Shawn for help in locating some under-served families with boys between the ages of 6-10.

In addition, we would like to invite Rotarians to join us in the festivities, so that they can have a first hand experience at the camp with kids enjoying what the Rotarians have built. If any Rotarians have a hobby or passing interest in any of the above mentioned crafts, then they are welcomed to come and share their expertise. Furthermore, I can train any Rotarian interested in serving as a volunteer before that day on the basic procedures for each event.

Please begin to gather any promotional items you’d like displayed at camp during this event. I’d suggest banners or flyers that say “Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Arcadia” that can be reused for other events.
