Joel Shawn was recognized for $100 in celebration of the Arcadia High School’s Constitution Team’s success in Washington DC as National Champs.  David Vannasdall joined the recognition in absentia for another $100.  Luckily for Joel, the Finemasters were in a generous mood; his hosting of the Public School Luncheon was included in the recognition at no extra charge.  Jim Rider announced that he will be sitting in for Supervisor Joel for a day.  That announcement cost Jim $100, also.

Rob Post was recognized for advertising … for wearing a Post Alarm shirt to Rotary last week.  The $150 fine included an additional bonus recognition for updating the club on the impending arrival of his sister Gina’s baby.

Red Badger Roger Grant gave his craft talk recently and the Finemasters, always on the lookout for recognition opportunities, noted that he had turned down an offer to work for a major software company.  His recognition for $50 included a request for investment tips.

George Fasching was recognized for his winning of the Pot ‘o Gold for the second time.  Since he has also been in charge of planning our annual fundraiser for the past many years, there was some speculation on his objectivity.  George pointed out that his overall gross “investment” in the Pot o’ Gold far exceeds his winnings, thus earning the Finemasters’ mercy as they considered his fine.  Eric Barter joined the fray by “approaching” George to plan next year’s Pot o’ Gold and earned himself a fine for $100.  However, another opportunity presented itself to the Finemasters.  George’s daughter purchased the puppy being auctioned at the Pot ‘o Gold.  Unfortunately, she was unable to keep the puppy where she lived and the puppy had to be returned.  This turn of events cost George $50.

In keeping with the theme of Pot o’ Gold winners, Art Killian, was recognized for $100 for winning the second prize at the fundraiser.  He noted that he hasn’t spent the money yet and will use the remaining funds to pay his Rotary bill.
