The Dynamic Duo of Dave McMonigle and Geoff Tookey stepped up to the podium and went about nailing six of their closest and dearest Rotary friends today.
Number One was T. Francis who was charged $50 for his wife Sue’s retirement from Arcadia Methodist Hospital. Seems every time T. turns around, he has to cough up a little more money to celebrate the retirement but what the heck. He certainly doesn’t spend any money on clothes…
Number Two was lovable Don Milefchik who had to part with $50 because he was careless enough to get his picture taken for an AMH program of some sort. Stay away from those paparazzi, Don!
Number Three was Esma Ali. She was fined $50 for fasting during Ramaddan. How cruel!
Number Four was cute little Bob Deao who was fined $50 for [we think] not knowing the name of the Volunteer of the Year for Arcadia Red Cross who was featured in a recent ARC newsletter. Shame on him! Ray Bushnell [Number Five] suffered $50 worth of collateral damage because, as it turns out, his company printed the newsletter!
Number Six was Allen Yack who was fined $1,500 [or something like that] for the 84th anniversary of Ralph’s Florist, the local business started by his father in 1925. Seems unfair to fine the son for that but Allen didn’t seem to mind. The plug was good for business!
Number Seven should have been a fine for Queen Imy for reminding us to pick up the song books after the meeting and returning them to the back table, in light of the fact we haven’t passed out song books since 2008. But Dave and Geoff missed this one [again] and Queen Imy skated.
