The dynamic dual Finemasters of David McMonigle and Geoff Tookey got to work earning money for the club and setting an example for the District Governor. Dave began by calling on Dave Stover to inquire if is was true that he returned home one day last week to find Bob Young exiting his bedroom with his wife. Bob, being surprised, pulled out a tape measure and muttered something about carpets. A compromising situation no less. Dave was fined $25 for not assisting his wife and protecting his boudoir, and Bob was fined $50 for the tape measure.

Geoff began by calling on Bob Harbicht and asking him what the blue ribbon on his badge said. Bob responded that it read “Mayor”. When asked if that was the truth—Bob stammered and was fined $50 for impersonating a Mayor. He was also questioned about his sponsorship of a non-event fundraiser for the Boy Scouts. Bob was fined $50 for planning not t show up to his own non-event!

Dave then called on Keith Brown and asked about where he had gotten the Brooklyn jacket he had worn the week before. The authentic jacket was a mystery as Keith began to complain about all the times he has been fined. Tablemate Dave then relented and fined him only $10. Whaaaaa!

Geoff called on Dan Bayer to ask him, being an international guy, if he was a member of Rotary International. Dan said yes—of course. Well the trick question had been put to the club in the High Gear by HG editor Steve Garrett. In hoping to catch members off guard he asked three questions of which only one was technically right. Sid Naness was asked if he was a member of the Arcadia Rotary Club. Sid answered yes as if the questioner was an idiot. Well the technical answer is we are all members of the Rotary Club of Arcadia.

Sid was fined $25, Dan was fined $25, and Steve Garrett was fined $50 for stirring up the whole mess anyway.

Pat Barnes was called upon to tell the club about a recent visit to his youngest grandson Killian. Well it turns out that Killian turned one year old and Pat had never been fined  for him as a grandson a year ago. Well the dynamic duo leaves to stone unturned and promptly fined him the recognized $100 for a new (one year old) grandson. No interest necessary!
