Tamra Erickson teaches Math, Cross Age PE and is Pep Squad Advisor.  She earned her BA in World Arts & Cultures from UCLA and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.

All of Tamra’s 11 years in teaching have been with Arcadia Unified.  She has been a Mentor Teacher, a support provider for beginning teachers and Class Council Advisor.  She is the lead teacher for Geometry and Algebra 1 G series teams at the high school which focus on a variety of things from benchmarks, book adoption, and intervention classes.  In her math classes, Tamra’s students construct buildings involving particular shapes and draw the blueprints to scale (Geometry) and create real life budget reports (Algebra).

As Pep Squad Advisor, Tamra produces pep assemblies and rallies, supports athletics, and puts on school dances and special projects.  A recent project was the Halloween Haunter House which benefited the school and raised support for philanthropic projects in the surrounding communities.   She loves being involved in the lives of the Pep Squad members and really enjoys the activities associated with their activities such as kicking off the Festival of Bands, Rose Parade, and community events such as the opening of the Promenade extension of the mall.  She loves to help the girls build confidence, become life long learners and become intelligent, mature, strong independent women.

Tamra has been named AHS Staff Member of the Month, is listed in “Who’s Who Among Teachers,” and has been honored by the National Youth Leadership Forum.

Outside of the classroom, Tamra enjoys bowling, Salsa dancing, traveling, decorating for the holidays and throwing parties with her husband Ruben.
