1. Denis Gearheart’s memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 6th, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, on Duarte Rd. in Arcadia, at 2 PM .  Denny was a long time member, and frequent leader of songs and the Arcadia Rotary Doobee Bros.
2.  Teacher of the Month:  Brent Forsee introduced two highly respected and appreciated teachers:         

A. Kenneth Johnson, 33 yr. old teacher of Art History, Spanish, biology and AP  Science.                                                                                                                        B. Craig Monden, who teaches Video among other subjects, and has a specilal connection with his students, who frequently enter college at a second year level.

   3. Brian Hall introduced the exceptional Students of  the month:

        A. Song Lee who carries a 3.8 GPA  as the Performing Arts Scholar. She is into Choir (soprano), Monrovia City Park, song recording, and plans on attending Mt. SAC and  NYU.

       B. Joseph Harmon : Athlete of the month with a GPA of  3.5, and an interest in government. He is the captain of the football and baseball teams, after transferring a year ago!  He is into many pursuits, including Government, community activities, Rose Parade float decorating and Church, to name a few. he plans to go to Lindfield College to study business.                      

4. The monthly Arcadia Rotary Board Meeting will be held on May 21st at the Foothill Federal Credit Union.
5. Ken Mallory announced an upcoming event that will be very profitable to the club. It is the Antique Car Show on Sunday, June 8th from 9 AM to 4 PM. Cost is $25 per person and 75% of the ticket cost comes back to our club. Ken will circulate a sign up sheet at our next meeting

6. Ashley Andrews introduced our own Congressperson, Judy Chu, who spoke briefly, relating her interest in promoting small businessand related matters,  such as the Gold Line, open space and geen areas.
