Dick Martinez announced that the Rotary Amigos are leading the way to build trellises for the water tank and to stain the wood work that the Club recently installed in Mexico. The work project will be on Saturday and Sunday, January 25th and 26th. Our group will leave Arcadia at 6 am on Saturday 1/25 and meet at the Tijuana Cosco at 8 am. Along with a good day’s work everyone involved will also enjoy what has become a fun tradition … a terrific cocktail party and a great steak dinner on Saturday evening! If you have any questions please contact Dick Martinez.

Arcadia Rotary is going to a Day at the Races at the Santa Anita Race Track! The date is February 7th and the price is right – – just $11. If you have any questions please contact Don Milefchik.

Arcadia Rotary is also going to the Rose Bowl for lunch and a tour of the legendary “Granddaddy of Them All” stadium! The date is February 14. The cost to members is $12. Lunch is included. Guests are $35. You can add the cost to your Rotary bill.

Lunch will start at 11:30 in the South Lounge in the Press Box which is accessed by elevator. The tour will begin at 12:00 after lunch and takes about 90 minutes. It will include the press box, interview room, media areas, new locker rooms, the old (circa 1920) lockers, and a trip to the field. There will not be a Rotary meeting on February 14th to accommodate the tour. Don’t miss this exciting event! Finally, our new Red Badger President Eszylfie Taylor announced that the Red Badgers are looking for contributions of raffle prizes to our upcoming Casino Night fundraiser. Let’s all respond to Eszyfie’s plea for members to step up and contribute a prize.

And that reminds us …

Please mark your calendars!!! Arcadia Rotary’s annual BIG fundraiser – – our annual Casino Night – – is scheduled for Saturday, March 8th. Our annual Casino Night is where we raise the bulk of the funds the Club uses to carry-out our many service projects. The Club needs YOUR help to raise the money it needs. This year, a significant amount of that money will come from the sale of Casino Night program ads. The Club is asking each member, including YOU!, to sell (or buy … if you don’t want to sell them) $100 worth of ads. It’s time to contact Mike Real or Ray Bushnell for ad forms and/or additional information. With sale of $100 of program ads by EVERY member of Arcadia Rotary we’ll be able to continue conducting our service programs at the level that we have in past years. Please do your part – – the Club appreciates it!
