The first meeting of the Arcadia Rotary Club took place October 7, 1927. Shortly thereafter the charter presentation was held at the Santa Anita Riding and Hunt Club. District Governor Almon E. Roth was there to make the presentation. All the Monrovia Club, Arcadia city officials and delegations from 14 other clubs were on hand for the celebration. Attendance was nearly 225, admittedly quite a gathering for those days. Some thrifty planning resulted in a net profit to the club of $84.85 from the event.
