1. On the weekend of January 28–29, 2012 at Los Angelitos Orphanage, situated in a rural area of east Tijuana, there was a Rotary Work Day. This is part of the annual Rotary Amigos project, hosted by Tijuana Rotary. In the slide show, Rotarians were shown doing work such as measuring and sawing wood. Among other areas, improvements were made to 56 feet of patio space. In addition to the 35 Arcadia Rotary participants (who were asked to stand up and be recognized), there were also three Montebello Rotary participants. It is hoped that in the future, more Rotarians will take part. (per Dick Martinez and Steve Pelletier.)

2. On March 17, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Arcadia Community Center Arcadia Rotary will have its Casino Night. In addition to the dining tables, there will also be gaming tables. Beverages will be served to those at the gaming tables. Tickets are $125 per couple or $75 per individual. Also for $20 in real money one can purchase another $200 in play money. 3. On March 24, 2012, at Victor Valley College, Victorville, California, Rotary District 5300 will have its Peace Conference. A Peacemaker of the Year Award will be presented, as well as an Ärt for Peace Contest. There will be a Video Contest on the theme of “Opportunities for World Peace – In Rotary and Beyond”. – (per Brad Miller)

4. On April 7, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Willow Springs, the Lancaster West Rotary is presenting its Race Day, with an opportunity to drive hot cars. (per Brad Miller)
