2. The District Governor Reception takes place at the Arboretum, Peacock Pavilion, tonight (October 2). (per President Michael Hoey).

3. Rotary World Peace Conference will take place on Janurary 15 – 16, 2016 in District 5300 in Ontario, California. Rotary International President K. R. ‘Ravi’ Ravidran will be in attendance.

4. Arcadia Welfare and Thrift recently closed and donated $10,000 to the Arcadia Rotary Foundation for use in helping lower income people. (Per Frank Hall).

5. Octoberfest will take place Saturday night, October 3, 2015 at the Jensen residence. (per Mike Real).

6. Arcadia Rotary’s annual Monday Night Football event will be held on Monday, Oct. 26th. at the home of Paul and Sandra Kalemkiarian The Cost is $30 per person. (per Mike Real).

7. The JDRF-LA Walk for a Cure of Juvenile Diabetes Will Take Place on Sunday, October 25 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. 40,000 children per year are diagnosed with Type One Diabetes. (per Keith Brown, Captain of Team Rotary).

8. The Arcadia Women’s Club is hosting a wine-tasting fundraiser to benefit the Good Shepherd Shelter for Battered Women with Children on October 17, 2015 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Arcadia Women’s Club headquarters, 324 S. First Avenue, Arcadia. (per Francine Chiu).

9. Rotary International and Rotary Amigos will meet with the Tijuana Rotary Club tomorrow, October 3, to identify an orphanage project for 2016. (per Richard Martinez).
