Community Service

• Instrumental in bringing Methodist Hospital to Arcadia in 1956.
• Funded purchase of ovens – provide support for The Red Cross “Meals on Wheels” program.
• Sponsors annual “Salute to Arcadia Seniors Luncheon”
• Sponsors Boy Scout Troop 103, Cub Scout Pack 122, and Girl Scout programs.
• San Gabriel Valley Council Boy Scout’s of America Camp Trask Projects:
  • Built the Administration Building,
  • a Dining Hall,
  • Lake Trask,
  • Restrooms,
  • an Amphitheatre with seating for 350,
  • and Fort Rotary, a 5,000 sq. ft. facility.
• Provide Tutoring for Students AND Recognition for Teachers.
• Work with Schools and Youth in our Community
• Support the Ronald McDonald House

International Service

Programs and activities that Rotarians under-take to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace.

• As a Club, we raised over $205,000 toward eliminating polio worldwide. Internationally,
• Rotarians have raised over $700,000,000.
• Financed construction of drinking water wells to provide clean water for communities in India, Uganda, Brazil, and Mexico.

                   

• Sponsors High School Students for Rotary International Exchange Programs.

 

• Annual trips to Mexican Orphanage’s to provide mobile dental and medical trailers for needy children.

                  

 

• Constructed Girl’s Orphanages:   Installed a Study Hall; Exterior and Interior Lighting;
• Water Tank; Restrooms; and Dining Hall.
• Boy’s Orphanages Installation and Repair of Roof;   Siding, Paneling  
• Flooring; Light Fixtures;
• Septic Tank;
• Smoke Detectors.

 

Vocational Service

• Opportunity for Rotarians to represent the dignity of one’s vocation.
• Sponsors Arcadia High School Four-Way Speech Contest; and Dan Stover Music Competition and Career Day Shadowing.
• Sponsors Arcadia High School Interact Club (a school service club)
• Provides over $5,000 annually in Mini Grants for Teachers to enhance classroom learning.
• Develop & facilitate Leadership Training Programs for Middle & High School Students.
